This course is a study of the first five books of the Old Testament. This course focuses on the Pentateuch’s literary and structural nature, its historical and cultural settings, and its content and theology. Special attention is given to understanding the God of Israel, creation, humanity, Israel, salvation, covenant, and law. The course will also examine various theories of the Pentateuch’s origin and development.
